Wow.

I've been checking www.havetheyawardededblackshirts.com every day in anticipation. I should have been checking here instead.

On another note...

I just checked my LITR inbox, and I have, what could be, the most awesome thing that's ever resulted from my involvement with this website. Apparently some woman from Puerto Rico needs help with her husband's immigration case (no joke).

Now, I have no idea if this was a mass spam attempt, and everyone on here got this message, but if not, I have a feeling my user name might have played a part in this. Hopefully this will one day result in someone wanting to send me a case of enchiladas.

All hail the Don Fransisco (and that that lil blonde hottie with him)!

another question answered, congrats to all!

From the previous blog entry.. my three keys against SDSU...

1. See a good movie the night before the game. "Eat Pray Love" would probably be a bad choice.

2. Make sure Bo's gum is laid out & ready before the game. Crucial mistake if it's not.

3. Do not trip during the tunnel walk. Pumping up the crowd (waving arms up & down) while bobbing your head is a complicated maneuver. Just watch out for the seams and cracks under your feet.

Has anyone ever scored 200 points on another team? Just wondering.

I was just kidding in my last comment, but I actually went out and found the answer.

In 1916, Georgia Tech whooped Cumberland 222-0. That record may fall this weekend.

I was actually expecting the Blackshirts to be awarded next week. But the psychology of this weeks makes much more sense.

Finally.

Bo got it right

Side question....being in Miami, buddies have been asking me if Taylor Martinez is Hispanic. A Cuban friend of mine is all excited. I told him to sit tight, and I will get the answer.

Don't know. Anyone?

My persective is....Who cares...he can be from Mars, he has a N on his helmet. That's all that matters.

That is an awesome photo!! One of the best football shot I've seen in a long time!

I think T-Magic is not an Earth ethnicity. He draws his powers from our yellow sun.

If he got kicked out of Fremont then he is Hispanic! :O>)

Posted by: Skree N Ame on September 23, 2010 7:28PM CST
Martinez is Nebraskan. Period.

Back in black, got the sack, throw them bones, it's good to be back. Running loose, choking O's like a tightening noose.

Yeahh..I'm ba..aaa.aa.ck, baaa..aaa.aa..ck

I'm Back in Black.

Ok, so we have determined Taylor is a gift from God, possibly from another planet.

He choose to play with a N on his helmet.

There is much to be thankful for.

USC, and Sark, sorry, we got him

Sabado Gigante.....I want to deposit a hundred thousand dollars in your bank account. Just send me your account number and I will do it.

Some guy tripping as they spill out onto the field, causing a mass pile up. Thanks for putting that nightmare in my head.

Sabado Gigante:

Yes someone has scored 200 points in CFB.

Georgia Tech scored 222 points on Cumberland in 1916.

The year before in a baseball game Cumberland had beaten GT 22-0 and the Football coach thought Cumberland was running up the score and got mad. So, the next year he arranged a game with Cumberland and made a plan to score 222 points to get back at Cumberland.

The final score of the game was:

Georgia Tech- 222
Cumberland- 0

Miami Beach Husker:

They said in the game against Washington. I think he's half Tongin (spelling?) and half white.

Huskersince\Miami Beach -

They said his mother is Samoan.

Nono

As long as you feel that they can be taken away just as equally after a game. For example, did you not feel that McKeon deserved his taken away after a few games under Cally his senior year?

Obviously (and for good reason) he didn't believe in what Coz was teaching him after Bo, but not bustin' it every play is still no excuse.

I actually think this is what Bo is trying to avoid. Hand em' out after not playing a snap, then snatch em' away if they don't prove their worth.

He lets the field do the talking, and lets them know it's an ongoing evaluation. It prevents "early season complacency".

Posted by: rluben on September 23, 2010 9:44PM CST
Bo's entitled to a few of his own traditions or tweaking an existing one to fit his style...just as entitled as Devaney was to start one when he did. It's Bo's program at the moment, he's doing things the right way from the looks of things and he has his players attention and respect.

Just like morons can text all day instead of actually doing the easier thing of talking to the person, Bo can punish gum while handling the Blackshirt awarding as he sees fit.

It's not like his guys aren't playing hard because he made some changes to how it's handled...I have yet to see any players pouting about not getting them handed out before the first game.

Marvin Sanders was a blackshirt, he knows what it is all about, if he felt it was out of line, or the tradition has been somehow disrespected...he'd let Bo know I'd think.

With that said, that's just my opinion on the subject, it isn't right or wrong, just my take on the situation.

Posted by: rluben on September 23, 2010 9:50PM CST
His version of the warding of the blackshirts is sort of like you haven't earned them until you've proven it a few times on the filed and not just in practice.

Don't really see much wrong with that if everyone's on the same page and they aren't losing any sleep over it.

When we have a player threaten to transfer unless Bo hands him his Blackshirt before Bo has deemed that player worthy of it, or some player decides to send Bo a message and decides to do 50 yard line sit down peaceful protest during a play in a game to get Bo's attention...why then maybe I'll change my thinking on it.

Posted by: Sabado Gigante on September 23, 2010 10:32PM CST
Luber..

Agreed. Seems to me, Bo's methods are working.

Did we not have more players receiving Blackshirts last year?
