Suh is a really big deal
Posted by: Steve Sipple on April 16, 2010 at 8:17AM CST

A good friend in Las Vegas tells me casino patrons did the "Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhh!" chant as Ndamukong visited the city recently.

A major announcement involving Suh will be made Saturday at the Red-White Spring Game.

And what's this? The big man's appearing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (NBC, 11:35 p.m. Central)?

According to the show's Web site, Suh will rub elbows with fellow guests Tracy Morgan and The Flaming Lips. Perhaps you've heard The Flaming Lips' tune, "She Don't Use Jelly." OK, maybe not.

Go Big Suh!

I follow him on twitter and it's kinda funny to seem some of the stuff he tweets. Him and Cody Glenn seem to be rolling in the same group. Went to a Jay-Z concert while they were in Vegas about a month ago or something like that. He's visited St. Louis, Tampa, Detroit, for obvious reasons it would seem.

Back in the day I listened to the Flaming Lips alot. Best of luck to Suh.

I dated someone with flaming lips once. Does that count?

Posted by: Coughunter on April 16, 2010 9:20AM CST
PT, is that a gay or a STD reference?

Posted by: PT Husker on April 16, 2010 9:33AM CST
coug, It is a faint memory.

I seem like the Big guy is enjoying his celebrity a bit. Good for him.

He will have his Chin strap buckled when the time comes.

"She'll make you breakfast, she'll make you toast. But she don't use butter and she don't use cheese. She don't use jelly or any of these...."

Sip I didn't picture you as a Lips fan. I prefer Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, which is perhaps a metaphor for what Suh did versus the Texas offensive line.

I'll never tire of Suh or the Flaming Lips, however Jimmy Fallon's show is painful to watch. I don't know if it's him or the writing, but it's bad. He does have a killer house band (the Roots) and great musical guests. Add to that the best football player in the land....maybe Jimmy's turning the corner.

SG, long time no post. You must be working for a living.

Posted by: Sabado Gigante on April 16, 2010 10:24AM CST
Work? What's that?

Posted by: PT Husker on April 16, 2010 10:32AM CST
Lol. It is an affliction made necessary by bill collectors and wives.

Posted by: Sabado Gigante on April 16, 2010 10:35AM CST
Oh. I thought the bill collectors and wives were the affliction.

Posted by: SuperHusker17 on April 16, 2010 10:35AM CST
That's why you just try to aviod both PT :-p

On another music/football note... did anyone else know there's a musician named.... wait for it... Bill Callahan?

Yeah. For real.

I haven't heard many of his songs (here's one), but I wonder if any are titled.. "The plan was laid out perfectly. We faced an excellent team."

Posted by: PT Husker on April 16, 2010 10:56AM CST
He sings like he coaches. Badly.

DBP, I found a story you may like. Apparently you can garden in just a thong and gloves and not get in trouble. Maybe if Trash comes out to visit you, you'll let him try it out.

I prefer me some Violent femmes, such as dance mofo dance.

Anyone heard of a band from Omaha I think called the Faint, eltronic, synth type stuff. I've heard a few of their songs on Pandora, hadn't ever heard of them before that, but I like what I've heard.

This was at a casino or some event that the people knew he'd be at? Pretty cool if it was just a random day out in public and the people recognized him and started chanting suuuuuuuuuh.

Ha, it'll be interesting watching Suh along with Tracy Morgan. Just watched Tracy Morgan on the Daily Show last night, and I don't think I've ever seen Jon Stewart crack up that much. By the end of the interview, Stewart was begging Morgan to stop.

Hey SuperHusker, I sure hope he's not hanging with Cody Glenn's group. I sure wouldn't like him to pick up some nasty habits like ticket scalping, or play book selling, or sexual assaulting, or lying to cover up his scandals!

Posted by: SuperHusker17 on April 16, 2010 1:21PM CST
I follow them both and I know the one concert I was talking about they both had tweeted about it. I figure they weren't too many more than 1 Jay-Z concerts going on at one time in the world. I can't vouch for what Glenn does anymore and I would think that Suh would have a good enough head on his shoulders that he would avoid trouble right before the draft. The Colts have seemed to be able to trust Glenn and I don't seem to hear too much criminal activity coming from their roster so maybe he's turned his act around.

Frank Zappa...200 Motels...another commercial product (Coca-Cola) used for a somewhat related purpose (feminine hygiene). God, it's great to be old and still remember this stuff.

Ha! Steve, nice reference to "She Don't Use Jelly" ("she uses Vasoline, Magazines, etc., right?). I am a big fan of the Lips' more recent tune "W.A.N.D."...will be interested to hear what they play on Fallon. But mostly interested to see big "Suuuuuuuuuuuuh!" Are we sure he doesn't have one more year left??

Suh is the mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Suh, was the greatest player, in all of college FB last season, Heisman, should have been his?

More, of the same, for a long time running, (stay injury free, to some degree) in the NFL?

He will be a joy, to watch play, at the next level, also?

GBR! Zhou Da Hong! GB 12! Zhou Da Shier!

Fame, is his for the taking, he earned it, the old fashion way!

Posted by: Bumarooskie on April 16, 2010 7:29PM CST
For the way N-Suh carried himself and the fine way he represented the University and Husker Football, I am pleased to see him garnering the celebrity. I hope he keeps a level head and remembers the values he learned at home.

Go Big SUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhh!!
