Bam!

The spread of this weekends game is 10 points in favor of Wisconsin for those who pay attention or care... I kind of scratch my head at that. I would've thought as high as 6.5, but 10 seems like an awful lot. The only game that was more than a 3 point win was Texas and UW in the Holiday Bowl (and we understand why NU laid an egg there). Does this concern anyone that the line opened so high with a seemingly more potent offense? Dennard being back was as valuable as I had imagined as they only went at him once or twice. I think Ciante is the answer as the other corner. Anyway, I am going with an early prediction of NU-42 Wisconsin-38

They are in LUV with Wisconsin's ability to run the ball & the lack of us to stop it. It might change when the gamblers start taking NU to cover the spread. We will not be beat by 10..MARK IT DOWN

It doesn't matter a bit to me what the Point Spread is.

Posted by: RetiredArmyGuy on September 26, 2011 11:27AM CST
Point spreads do not necessarily reflect the teams playing the game .......... they reflect how the odds makers think people are going to bet the game.

OH man I just got in a pi$$'n contest with a sales guy here at work & he said the Bo is in the panic mode with our D.

Posted by: Dave on September 26, 2011 11:40AM CST
Bo's wearing a Black Husker shirt today. Hmmmn.

Posted by: Dave on September 26, 2011 11:41AM CST
charger,

The only one in panic mode is your sales guy at work.

Ugh...these questions....blat!

Do you there linebackers are good...what is he supposed to say...no, they are crap and we are going to stuff the ball up there a@@?

Shouldn't the reporters, by now, know what questions are going to be answered and which ones will not?

Maybe they should watch some "game film" so they know there opponent on press day.

LOL...GBR

Wisconsin should be favored and should sneak out a win. BUT, you have to consider the strength of their non-con schedule. Opponents are 5-10. NUs opponents are 10-6. On paper, Washington, Fresno State & Wyoming look like a much tougher schedule than UNLV, South Dakota and Northern Ill. And it could very well make a difference when the lights come on Saturday night.

What's up with the Huskerextra.com index page?

It's all wacky for me, anyone else having issues with it?

All other pages seem fine, just the main one is jacked, showing just some links on a blank white page and smack talk about my browser not being supported which is bunk since all other pages are fine.

Running firefox with No Script and a few other javascript limiters...no problems on my end.

I know it is blasphemy, but have you tried IE?

Cali- the home team in most instances get a 3pt edge.. so your thinking of 6.5 + 3 would be about right, neutral field would be about a TD.

Posted by: Husker Spock on September 26, 2011 1:01PM CST
TomO ... That sounds logical to me.

Posted by: calihusker on September 26, 2011 1:19PM CST
Yeah, I factored in the 3 pt. homefield into the 6.5... I don't think Wisconsin should be favored by a touchdown on neutral turf. Let's hope the fans can bring in at least 15,000 to 20,000 travelers to negate some noise and keep our guys in it.

How about this idea... The sweep toss has obviously been our most consistent potent running play. I like the idea of the same line schemes with the lineman pulling, but out of the wildcat so we have an additional blocker. Rex just looks too good running the ball. I have a feeling we will run that play two or three times in a row like we have and then either see a fake toss and TM run a naked bootleg for a load of yards or Burkhead will throw back to Martinez after the toss. Thoughts???

since this started as a reminder of the (then) ensuing press conference and for the first time (new computer) I could actually watch and listen I will simply say crap! I will never bother again. You can't hear the questions so the answers lose context. There is mostly just a lot of milling and nonsense. The first 30 minutes yielded a few minutes of John Cook's memories of Madison. I know my ignorance of the situation shows but what a waste of time. I won't make that mistake again. And I don't care if this post is a waste of time. I still want to say to someone, anyone, that if those things are to be aired, do it better. What there is now, sucks! BIG TIME!!
