NU commit has strong bond with Raymond

One recruit who was not at Nebraska's junior day this past weekend was Tre'vell Dixon.
Currently standing as the lone commit in Nebraska's 2013 class, Dixon had a good reason. He was running in the state indoor track meet. Dixon, who the Huskers are recruiting as a defensive back, is planning to come up for one of the summer camps, his coach Ryan Antoine told me last week. Having committed to Nebraska sight unseen, Dixon's next visit to Lincoln will be his first one. Nebraska (particularly Corey Raymond) was the first school to push hard after the 6-foot-1, 195-pound athlete from Baldwin, La. But Dixon, who had almost 2,200 yards of offense as his team's quarterback last fall, has also received offers from Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Arizona State. He'll likely get some more offers before it's done. Whether one of those comes from local school LSU remains to be seen. But even if LSU does come a calling, Antoine said Dixon's relationship is very tight with Husker secondary coach Corey Raymond. Antoine and Raymond grew up together in the same town, even coached together for one season. There's a trust there. Trust is tough to beat when it comes to recruiting. "I feel that other schools are going to come (after Dixon) but the relationship that Tre'vell has with Coach Raymond and the relationship I have with Coach Raymond is a strong one," Antoine said. "I want him to go to a good coach, a coach that I know is going to take care of him." More on Dixon in a story tomorrow.
