Leach's 'big-time' decision
Posted by: Steve Sipple on October 12, 2009 at 4:35PM CST

Mike Leach says it'll be a game-time decision as to who will quarterback his team Saturday, but the smart money is on junior Steven Sheffield over classmate Taylor Potts.

Leach has a Leach-like take on the matter.

"I've been criticized for not doing what 'big-time' programs do, so I've decided to accomodate the wishes of the media," the Texas Tech coach said Monday. "And 'big-time' programs like to have game-time decisions, so we've got us a game-time decision on our hands, and I think that'll be not just 'big-time' for everyone but exciting for everyone. So there's 'big-time' for you.

"How do you like that?"

Can't help myself. I love Mike Leach. The guy is a nutjob. I love it when he gave that kid dating advice ("you can trade computer schemes and that mischief") or the time he did the weather.

The guy is just classic.

I didn't know Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys was TT coach!

I like Leach as a coach. Think what his program would be like if he had a defensive coordinator like Bo on his staff. Frightful. I love it when TT beats Texas. It like the poor kids from across the tracks beating the rich kids!

I call Leach Flaky, and he is. Can't argue with his success though. Boring he is not.

At least they didn’t have lawn dart wars. That’s just crazy!

Posted by: Sabado Gigante on October 12, 2009 4:57PM CST
Nish..

I think it was a documentary on the History Channel.

Posted by: Boonies on October 12, 2009 4:59PM CST
He's done a decent job with TT, but, sorry, I don't think he's cute OR cool...I think he's an arrogant, patronizing a$$hole.
Just one woman's opinion... lol

Wow Boonies-from the top rope.

Don’t know much about Mr. Leach to say he is arrogant. One kind of has to have some arrogance to be a head coach.

Mr. Leach can't be all bad was an Eagle Scout. Then so was the BK Killer!

Posted by: Sabado Gigante on October 12, 2009 5:23PM CST
The BK Killer?

Is that like some new sandwich that's bigger than the Whopper, has bacon, mayo, sour cream, 6 slices of cheese, and is deep fried?

That Burger King, what'll they think of next.

Maybe something like this...

I nominate Mike Leach for the Al Bundy award of coaches.

Posted by: festusmonroe on October 12, 2009 7:17PM CST
Mike Leach is the best coach in the state of Texas. As long as they're not playing against the Huskers, I like the Red Raiders.

Leach is a straight runnin' nutjob and a lush to boot.

Sorry CONRINTX, I hung around for a few minutes and started watching the baseball game. I'm at a 4A school. We dropped down from 5A 4 years ago.

That's cute of Leach and all, but we all know it's going to be Sheffield. They made him team captain last night in place of Potts; so that should be a pretty good indicator.

Posted by: Blackshirtsdef on October 12, 2009 8:53PM CST
He threw a "T-bow" under the bus....hilarious!

Posted by: OKNebFan on October 12, 2009 10:33PM CST
Me thinks he should be less worried about the media, and worry about SUH instead!!!!

GBR!!!!!
