Huskers stay on KFAB
Posted by: Brian Rosenthal on July 19, 2010 at 4:50PM CST
The Husker Sports Network has announced a partnership extension with News Radio 1110 KFAB that will keep Nebraska football broadcasts on the Omaha station through 2014.

In addition to football, the extension will allow Nebraska men’s basketball to remain on KFAB through the 2014-15 season, and men’s baseball through the 2015 season. Clear Channel’s KTWI-FM will continue as NU’s Omaha outlet for volleyball and women’s basketball.

“Aligning with a radio station known for its strong presence in Omaha and across the region is important to University of Nebraska Athletics,” said Tom Osborne, NU Athletic Director. “We appreciate KFAB’s commitment to supporting the Cornhuskers and are delighted to continue our long and historic bond. Nebraska football Saturdays on KFAB is a great part of our state’s culture.”

Dang ... watched the 1994 Orange Bowl on ESPN Classic (again).

Although I know it's not possible, but I was hoping that the last second kick would sail true this time.

Those refs were awful during that game and it shouldn't have come down to the final kick anyway. Many pass interference calls against Florida State were not called.

Where did they get those guys? Foot Locker?

Nah...they just went on to be soccer refs

Can they at least get rid of Sports Nightly or find away to have an actual show? Everytime I listen it seems like a 5 minute talk segment is followed by a 10 minute commercial segment. I think the whole 2 hours (KFAB doesn't carry the first hour, which makes no sense) is only a total of 45 minutes of discussion. Pointless most of the time because they never have enough time to discuss any topics. IMO, which doesn't mean a lot.

Stone - I agree. Commercials Nightly is pretty tough to listen to. Only Ernie Chambers can fillibuster better than Lane Grindle.

ok? pour it on Lane F. Grindle. Im sure he decides how much marketing they throw on the air. I personally think Lane does an awesome job, when he has the chance. Give the kid a break. I for one like to know which Fontenelle hybrid produced the best yields...GBR

I listened to Commercials Nightly last Thursday. They went to commercial at 6:54. By the time they ran the commercials and replayed the radio call from every touchdown, 3 pointer, and home run scored in the last year, and I once again heard Lane's voice, it was 7:08.

That's fourteen minutes.

OTB, lol. Exactly my point. Lane is fine, it is the fact that the show sucks from a listening perspective.
