Game thread: OU-Nebraska
Posted by: Steve Sipple on November 7, 2009 at 5:58PM CST

Lots of Nebraska fans probably treated this as a double-header football day of sorts.

Kansas State 17, Kansas 10 in the opener.

Now, Nebraska-Oklahoma.

The Wildcats, at 4-2 in the Big 12, are in control of their destiny in the North Division. They have games remaining at home against Missouri and at Nebraska. Win them both, and K-State would be North champion.

NU, at 2-2 in league play, remains in the hunt. After tonight, the Huskers have road games against Kansas and Colorado wrapped around a home game against K-State.

In short, the Huskers need to beat Kansas State and win two of the other three games. Do that and Nebraska wins the North.

Nice meeting some of our bloggers tonight.

Blog away.

Beat OU

Posted by: JTHF on November 7, 2009 6:04PM CST
Can't believe no one has done the BAM !!

Posted by: firstcoast_husker on November 7, 2009 6:07PM CST
You need to act like you've been there...BAM is old school. Huskers control their destiny too and they still can lose to OU to get there...sad but true.

Posted by: Robka on November 7, 2009 6:10PM CST
fch -Y is that sad? History shows championship banners not records. We get to Dallas and pull the upset, do you think we would care that we won the north with 3 loses?

BO BIG RED!!

Posted by: JTHF on November 7, 2009 6:12PM CST
Busie, if you join the blog, sorry about the game. Big mistake by the refs on the interception. Probably cost LSU the game.

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 7, 2009 6:14PM CST
Crazy day so far, quite a few upsets.....C'Mon Huskers silence your critics!

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 6:16PM CST
GBR GBR!
condolences to Busie, they did their best...

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 7, 2009 6:18PM CST
BAM!!!

We can do this.

Posted by: Exiled_in_VT on November 7, 2009 6:22PM CST
Sorry to miss the bloggers ball...time to set up the compy to rock the ESPN360 feed.

I hate watching on the computer though. When we're on offense, that darn little paperclip guys pops up and says, "It looks like you're trying to drink yourself into an early grave, would you like some help?"

Posted by: rankrider21 on November 7, 2009 6:22PM CST
Well just finished cleaning some catfish got about 8lbs of filets. Got a full belly now if I could just witness a Husker victory this day would be perfect. Go Big Red!!!!!

Wrestler

Hope all is well with you if you and GF are following along....talk to you soon!

Posted by: Exiled_in_VT on November 7, 2009 6:23PM CST
Robka,

Long time, no see. Hope you're back just in time for a big Husker win.

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 7, 2009 6:29PM CST
rankrider))) I did the catfish thing today myself. Just got done chompin down. Delicious.

Posted by: BleedingRed on November 7, 2009 6:30PM CST
So will Watson open up the play book and stretch the field or will we methodically play not to lose and lose?

I know that the Huskers can and should win, but will they be allowed to?

Posted by: black&bluehusker on November 7, 2009 6:30PM CST
So Sip, How do you explain KSU? Is it their personnel, their coaching, their schedule? I don't remember where they were picked to finish in the north and don't really care, know it was not in the top three. Something is going on there that is not happening here. Must be a reason

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 7, 2009 6:31PM CST
Bledding Red))) You know how Wats does it.

Posted by: JTHF on November 7, 2009 6:31PM CST
Must be a day for catfishing. Cleaned some ourselves this morning. Froze ours though. Grilled steaks instead.

Posted by: Brian Christopherson on November 7, 2009 6:31PM CST
Cody Green is starting tonight. I know we all assumed that. But you can mark it down as official now.

Posted by: HuskerzVA on November 7, 2009 6:32PM CST
GBR!!!

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 7, 2009 6:33PM CST
JTHF))) Ahhh man... you suck! You should have eaten the catfish like all the rest of us. Now your out of the club.

Posted by: throw46 on November 7, 2009 6:33PM CST
Thanks BC. I was wondering when it would leak out. Where did you find the leak???

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 6:33PM CST
KSU's RB Daniels is 2nd to none in the conference and their O line does a really good job.

Pretty good D too, but Reesing isn't as good since he's been injured.

If we ever get an offense we can take out KSU no problem, as well as the other North foes.

Big IF.

Posted by: KeithHe on November 7, 2009 6:34PM CST
GO BIG RED!!!

Must be a fish day as went to the seafood fest here in tampa and had grouper. A great eating fish.

Posted by: KeithHe on November 7, 2009 6:36PM CST
I sure hope we put some WR in motion coming across with some misdirection tonight. If we just try and line straight up might be a long night for the offense.

Posted by: JTHF on November 7, 2009 6:37PM CST
Step, we have had fresh catfish 3 times this week :) Thought it was time for something else !! Can't beat a fresh home grown steak.

Posted by: SoDakHusker on November 7, 2009 6:37PM CST
BC: what's the mood of the stadium? Night games are typically electric. What would you call it tonight?

Posted by: drivebyposter on November 7, 2009 6:38PM CST
I saw a fish on the discovery channel.

Posted by: HuskerzVA on November 7, 2009 6:39PM CST

Posted by: throw46 on November 7, 2009 6:39PM CST
Just got back from City College of San Francisco (juco home of lee) Their QB stunk it up today, but they were winning 46-20 with a couple of minutes to go. Great Defense. But crappy O due to the duel threat QB.

That's crazy! I saw that same one....it was in the water Right?

If you have ESPN... you have ESPN 360... right or wrong?

Posted by: californiared on November 7, 2009 6:41PM CST
this is why my dad and i say we have to buy a house in lincoln, so we can stay up there for football season and never miss a game

Posted by: BleedingRed on November 7, 2009 6:41PM CST
Step,

That is why I can't outright proclaim a victory. I have this dude that gets his bad charma in the freaking way all of the time.

black&bluehusker,

Have you ever listened to Bill Snyder speak? He sounds exactly like TO. He allows his kids to understand football and life in a way that transcends both. He gets the more out of every kid than would be expected. His kids in their heart of heart believe what he tells them and they start to perform as he knows that they can.

He is almost as special as TO. They are going to bring it when they come here and we had better believe as well.

Posted by: HuskerzVA on November 7, 2009 6:41PM CST
Anytime we have a night game it feels like forever for the game to start.

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 7, 2009 6:44PM CST
KSU gots a good coach... thats what it is.

Posted by: HuskerzVA on November 7, 2009 6:44PM CST

I couldn't do ESPN 360 until this summer because Comcrash is a terrible internet provider.

Posted by: HuskerzVA on November 7, 2009 6:47PM CST
i don't

Posted by: Miller on November 7, 2009 6:48PM CST
SoDak, he is doing something right, who would've ever guessed that K-St would be in the lead.

I hate living on the east coast during football season.

Posted by: SoDakHusker on November 7, 2009 6:50PM CST

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 7, 2009 6:53PM CST
Ministry to 11 sounds promising.

Posted by: HuskerzVA on November 7, 2009 6:54PM CST
Snyder coaches the enemy and I hate every coach in college football who doesn't coach at NU...hahaha

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 6:54PM CST
I think we will be able to make a game of this, the offense has just got to settle down and hopefully grind it out a bit...

Posted by: BleedingRed on November 7, 2009 6:54PM CST
Okay, going to settle in for the game.

I am fully expecting a Husker victory.

Let's see what happens.

KiethHe, very jealous used to live in Clearwater beach and there was this bar down on the beach that had the best grouper sandwhiches!! I sure do miss the beach when I hear about grouper. Used to walk out to the end of honeymoon island and go grouper fishing in the dead of winter near the plant up on that end. To all Hope you had a great day and time is upon to hope that our huskers pull this one out. Sorry Busie about them Tigers that was and interception walked in about thirty seconds to that. I still have a pair of boots I bought when Turner was QB, Mike was the I back and Craig was fullback. My theory is that if I wear them tonight, pixie dust will fall off of them, race northwards, and the NE offense will come alive. If it happens, sorry Watson, I take credit.

1. Offensive Line BLOCKING

2. Offensive Line PENALTIES

Conclusion: Barney Cotton stinks!

They'd better "coach him up," too.

Posted by: gtsum2 on November 7, 2009 8:35PM CST
Low country - my hand is up...I called it 20-10 for OU and it is apparent we need some breaks to score, but the D is holding up fantastic...just need to stop the penalties and mistakes on offense

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 8:35PM CST

Should have at least 3 more if not for the turnover after the great run by Helu....geesh.

GO BIG RED!!!

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 8:37PM CST
our D is playing lights out!

Posted by: KeithHe on November 7, 2009 8:38PM CST
Why don;t we throw more RB screens over the middle and take advantage of OU's aggressiveness? They are starting to do it to us. Hopefully we can tip and pick one of those if they keep doing it.

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 8:39PM CST
Their back's good, but they've got a young QB.
If Nebraska can play the whole field with Lee, they could do it. Nebraska's got to grind out some first down. Or, the D will wear down again, especially if it's close at the end and Okie goes up tempo.

Posted by: Message on November 7, 2009 8:39PM CST
i've never called for a coach to leave but watson HAS to go I have never seen such pathetic play calling in my life

Posted by: black&bluehusker on November 7, 2009 8:40PM CST
Well OU doesn't have Watson as an OC

Posted by: joe9wicket on November 7, 2009 8:41PM CST
Ok.... Nebraska just needs to keep doing what they are doing, well.... I would like to see some first downs, and Helu really needs to get the ball firmly in his hands and plow some turf. Lee seems to have a grasp on things. the butterflies should be gone, stop 'em on the first drive, get the ball, put together a 6 minute drive and score! It became fairly evident OU was fresher on O down the stretch.... NU needs to give the D some rest... come on Nebraska!

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 7, 2009 8:42PM CST
Can somone give me the score please?

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 8:42PM CST
Helu is better than either Murray or Brown this year(and last) THEY should be worried about Helu. Thomas of KSU burned them alot last week. Give the ball to ROY.

Posted by: boom.roasted on November 7, 2009 8:42PM CST
Why do you run an option with Lee? or a zone read? He hasn't been able to do that all year. I like bringing Lee back in to throw the play action, but if you're going to run it, just hand the ball off.

Posted by: Message on November 7, 2009 8:43PM CST
nu defense 7 ou 3

Holly Cow, Great game huh?

7 to 3 at half

35 - 7 Air Force over Army

TCU 55 - 12 over SDS

Thank Low just back from a bike trip

Posted by: Message on November 7, 2009 8:47PM CST
watson did the same thing against iowa st. we drove the ball down the field with iso plays and fumbled at the 5. BUT we did move the ball. Now when we move the ball with iso plays we don't go back to what works. Just doesn't make sense.

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 8:47PM CST
our D is playing awesome....

Posted by: black&bluehusker on November 7, 2009 8:47PM CST
Pretty obvious they don't have much confidence in Cody being able to run the whole offense. Granted they did have poor field position to start the game but when they did have better position they didn't call any plays to take advantage of it. If they don't trust Cody leave Lee in, but turn this offense loose. Damn

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 8:49PM CST
I think Cody could have done alright if we hadnt gotten all the stupid penalties putting him in cr@p down and distances...

Posted by: NorthTX Husker on November 7, 2009 8:49PM CST
Wow. D. D. D. D. D. D. D. Suhhhhhhhhh!

Posted by: Message on November 7, 2009 8:49PM CST
how about throwing the ball down the middle of the field? let's rather throw pick sixes along the sideline.

Posted by: Sludge on November 7, 2009 8:50PM CST
Damn, glad Im having a buncha captain and coke right now. Thats the only way to deal with our pathetic offense. Its sooooooo bad, you can hear the TV commentators just feel bad for Nebraskans. When has that happened?

Hey, at least this is the game that seals the nails in the coffin for Watson. I mean, IF there are any of you Watson defenders left, I dont know how you come up with any excuses anymore.

Lets see... we dont run the FB, we dont spread out and run the football. Again, for you Watson apologists, we line up IN GOALLINE and run option football. The dude just has no ideas about the nuance or intricacies of running in college football. Obviously, he knows all the east-west nuances of the no-coast offense and passing for 3 yards for an incomplete pass.

God, the worst is the pain I feel for our guys on offense. Especially Zac Lee. He's nothing great, but HIGHLY SERVICEABLE as a average QB, yet Watson calls all these dumb zone read plays.

For the love of God, Watson you retard (sorry for the insult to the mentally challenged), if you are gonna live and die by the pass, then call a non-audible deep pass play. A 15 yard deep in. Something that GETS US A FRIGGIN FIRST DOWN!! The Buff fans must be dying laughing at us....

Come on TO, please, use your clout to get the ship righted. FIRE WATSON and TAKE OVER OC til the end of the season. Then find us someone in the running mulitple I/playaction pass offense mold. Think Packers offense in 2003. Granted FAV-RE is once in a lifetime, but I would take Lee OR Green in a balanced I offense.

Loading up on more Captain and coke, anticipating the second half.

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 8:50PM CST
yea, friggin watson, keeps fumbling the ball...

Posted by: nitro on November 7, 2009 8:50PM CST
Watson's play calling has no flow. He does not use one play to set up the next. No play action, no misdirection, and he is quick to give up on the run. However the worst play calling in modern Nebraska history had to come from Solich. That guy was so predictable it was almost comical.

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 7, 2009 8:50PM CST
Could be wrong but I suspect you will see both QB's in the second half

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 8:52PM CST
I think all you watson bashers are full of sh^t, thats what I think......but carry on with your b^tch fest in midgame....nobody can stop you...

Posted by: TruBlueRed on November 7, 2009 8:53PM CST
Love that D !!! From what I have seen Lee will give us the best chance in the 2nd 1/2. OK is not respecting Green's passing ability it appears from the way they are lining up on him. Man, reminds me of the old days and some of the defensive battles.

Posted by: KeithHe on November 7, 2009 8:55PM CST
Could be a lot worse. I will take a lead into the 2nd half and let our D makes some plays. Need the O to keep running the ball and hit some play action and most important NO TURNOVERS. Except cherry, I really like cherry turnovers.

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 8:55PM CST
our D is a thing of beauty, yes, but they can't hold them out forever......or can they???

Posted by: TruBlueRed on November 7, 2009 8:55PM CST
Keep in mind OK defense is probably pretty equal to ours

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 7, 2009 8:56PM CST
K, who is the hot QB? I have not seen one mintue of this game until now.

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 7, 2009 8:56PM CST
The D is playing impressive....30 more minutes of focus. i t appears the run game is there if they can get rid of the mental mistakes

Posted by: drivebyposter on November 7, 2009 8:56PM CST
sheesh, i think the wagondrivers miss bradford

Posted by: Miller on November 7, 2009 8:56PM CST
I don't think Cody was given much of a chance with all the penalties, maybe someone needs rip williams up like he did poor Robinson when he fumbled in the ISU game. Williams I think had two false starts against him in the 1st, could be wrong..

sludge hang in!

Posted by: Sludge on November 7, 2009 8:57PM CST
Yeah, keep defending him Bruno. HEHE haha..!!

Lets see, Colorado fans hated him (their posts are in the same mold, but laden with cussing) and passed him off to us. He makes us a weak offense that last year had stats but cant move the ball on a consistent basis. Now we have no stats and still cant move the ball on a consistent basis. We had ONE play ALL HALF!

Second half coming up. Find some more Watson apologies that dont make sense!

Laterz

whos jerry ross?

Posted by: NostraDumbAss on November 7, 2009 9:05PM CST
So I guess you feel that having 1 first down and being 0-6 on third down constitutes an offensive genius?

another penalty,..................... on OU wooohooo, whod a thought!

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 7, 2009 9:12PM CST
I don't think this is a night where Wats will make anyone happy....option didn 't work. Power running didn't work....the little bit we passed didn't work. One good run by Helu and one good pass call and other than that ...not much

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:12PM CST
Finally, Okie loses poise.

Posted by: nitro on November 7, 2009 9:12PM CST

Play action looks to be open let's see if they use it.

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 7, 2009 9:14PM CST
Ok that was Lee best play in three games. He got down before the contact no change of a fumble..

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:14PM CST
Time for the FG unit lol

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:14PM CST

Posted by: nitro on November 7, 2009 9:16PM CST
OK finally play action...sweet. Not to affective on 3rd and long.

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:16PM CST
Hey anyone know why Green isn't still in?

Were they doing a Green 1st Qrt. and Lee 2nd Qrt. and go with who is playing better?

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:16PM CST
Point off a turnover.
That dog'll hunt!

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 7, 2009 9:17PM CST
Good call HSB.....Huskers up by 7.

Wrestler/GF I know you are reading, this is the kind of game either team will be proud of at the end!

GBR!

Posted by: TheNUorder on November 7, 2009 9:18PM CST
Come on Defense. You need to score You can't expect the offense to put all the points on the board!!!

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:18PM CST
nice coverage!!!

one thing I've noticed in this game, they dont seem a million times faster than us like they usually do, in fact OU looks flat..

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:19PM CST
Cant wait till Martin's a starter.

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 7, 2009 9:19PM CST
Silicon,
I just got back to the really word about a half hour ago. Just turned the game on at half. I have heard not scores. I ended up having to purchase game day at full price to watch the game

Posted by: AustinHusker on November 7, 2009 9:20PM CST
I don't get it. I like Pelini a lot-but why Lee? He could be the Heisman of practice for all I care, but he has done nothing in 4 games.

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:20PM CST
Give Matty the IV!

Posted by: belacoz on November 7, 2009 9:20PM CST
What happened to O'Hanlon? I hope he can still play... he's having a great game!

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:21PM CST
cant give up the big play here...

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 7, 2009 9:21PM CST
Nish You're not a real fan you didn't watch the whole game and commericials.....LOL

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 7, 2009 9:22PM CST
I went to a sports bar hoping to run into a couple of Nebraska acquaintances. They weren't there, so I came home at the half and am watching on ESPN360.

Navy beat ND in South Bend. Second straight victory in South Bend after we had lost 43 straight in that series. 23-21 with ND getting a late TD in the last minute.

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:22PM CST
a win in this game would offset the tragedy that was the ISU loss...

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:22PM CST
Does anyone know why Lee took over? JW

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:23PM CST
GOOOOMES!

Posted by: AustinHusker on November 7, 2009 9:23PM CST
lol to the person who said OU 3 NU defense 7. Lee may be a nice guy, but come on, what does Pelini see?

Posted by: throw46 on November 7, 2009 9:24PM CST
huskersinceforever...Ball was on the first and 1.
Perfect for Lee.

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 7, 2009 9:24PM CST

Let's not screw up.

Posted by: AustinHusker on November 7, 2009 9:26PM CST
I'm not watching right now, but let me guess. Lee runs for 1 yard loss, false start.....and punt.

Posted by: HoosierHusker on November 7, 2009 9:26PM CST
WoW.. Bo is HOT!

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:27PM CST

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 7, 2009 9:27PM CST
Several questionable flags in this game. That pass interference in the first half...ugh

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 7, 2009 9:27PM CST
Silicon
sounds like a great game.

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:28PM CST
Quite a safety first play, on third down.
Defense has to keep 'em in it.

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:28PM CST
Well Kick coverage has been pretty good tonight

Posted by: SoDakHusker on November 7, 2009 9:28PM CST

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:29PM CST
A lot of pressure once again, on the D.
Their used to it, though.

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 7, 2009 9:29PM CST
Stanford's tailback carried 38 times for 223. Wish I would have seen it. Navy played great. Opposite of the NU game...their offense controlled the clock, defense was bend but not break..forced 3 turnovers inside the 10

Posted by: HeiSUHman on November 7, 2009 9:30PM CST
Who's side is SHAWN WATSON ON?????????

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 7, 2009 9:30PM CST
The D is getting tired the O has to get more than 3 plays or some of these players are going to get hurt.

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:30PM CST
man cant have Assante hurt, hes all over the field 2nite...

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:31PM CST
Suh-Wee:

I believe he is on the East Side

:)

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 7, 2009 9:31PM CST
I noticed that on runs between the tackles...once Suh or Crick get their arms around a guy, he ends up 2 yards further back at the end of the tackle

Posted by: HeiSUHman on November 7, 2009 9:32PM CST
What a Di_k!!!!

Posted by: MarkZu on November 7, 2009 9:32PM CST
3rd and 5 and we run off tackle? are we even trying to get a 1st down? what happened to our super-duper multiple west coast takes 2 yrs to learn offense? How about one of those high percentage short passes for a f***** 1st down?

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:32PM CST
I wanted to hear P.J. Smith's name.
He's gonna be a playah!

trying to lighten up the mood in a tense game...

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:34PM CST
Time for the offense to step up.
Somehow.

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 7, 2009 9:35PM CST
I'm waiting for a play where OU sets and they do their look to the sideline and Landry takes his step or two back, then walks down the line as he does and they direct snap to the running back. Is anyone else wondering if they are setting this up?

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:35PM CST
GEEZUS cmon, hit a pass downfield already...

Posted by: SoDakHusker on November 7, 2009 9:37PM CST
need a sustained drive...gotta relieve the D a little for the Q4

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:37PM CST
One thing I notice on our Zone reads and options...

we run east and west WAY to much. No body cuts up at all. We need to cut the ball up field and run North South... we can ge 3-4 yrds on these guys every play just about.

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:37PM CST
They've got to pass the ball to win.
The design demands it.
They have to open up the coverage.
Then, maybe Helu can break one, again.

Posted by: HoosierHusker on November 7, 2009 9:37PM CST
Where Can I get me a Mad Bo Flag like that?

LOL

GBR

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 7, 2009 9:37PM CST
Does anyone remember us getting any good yards anytime this year off a zone read play?

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 7, 2009 9:37PM CST
Wats has them right where he wants them.....spends 3 qtrs not moving the ball then BAM 14 points to win the game in the 4th.....after all his Boss says it's all about 60 minutes ......LOL

Posted by: joe9wicket on November 7, 2009 9:37PM CST
come on Lee, 3 steps let it go! come on come on come on come on come on.

HSB...I'm not even sure its the read...there just doesn't seem to be anything there past 2 yards. They close on Lee quickly.

Posted by: lincolniter on November 7, 2009 9:47PM CST

Posted by: Miller on November 7, 2009 9:49PM CST
NU's offense is just soooooo pathetic, my gosh its hard to watch them. I don't know if our D can hold on!

Posted by: AustinHusker on November 7, 2009 9:50PM CST
I don't get it, I don't get it, I don't get it. Put Green in already. How many times do we have to see Lee run back 7 yard and scramble?

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:50PM CST
Good Defense there by BK on that long pass play.

Posted by: drivebyposter on November 7, 2009 9:50PM CST

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:52PM CST
BK was open, more or less....overthrown...

Posted by: joe9wicket on November 7, 2009 9:53PM CST
Let's see... that bootleg drag play worked pretty good.... will we see it again? nope.

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:53PM CST
The D can and will hang on.

Gotta have heart... Gotta dig deep here.

"A team that cant be beat, WONT BE BEAT!"

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 7, 2009 9:54PM CST
Austin...did you miss the first quarter?

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:55PM CST

It's almost better, on a short field.

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:55PM CST
they havent hit Broyles once, thats unreal...

Posted by: Miller on November 7, 2009 9:55PM CST
Well here we go, the D is tired and our offense will lose this game again for NU, unless some miracle IT happens. What the heck is wrong with our offense, my gosh its painful to watch!

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 7, 2009 9:56PM CST
Wow OU offense suks almost as muc h as ours

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 9:56PM CST

Posted by: MarkZu on November 7, 2009 9:56PM CST
Not terribly impressed with the play calling on that last series! maybe they r trying to set up something for later in the game? we re gonna need more than 10 pts to win this thing!Everybody stomp your feet 3 times and scream Go Big Red at the top of your lungs! This will give us magical powers for victory! lol . keep drinking til we all believe!

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:56PM CST

MarkZU, I probably looked like fool but I did what you asked at this point I will do anything to get the W. Dang this Defense deserves this game and all the games lost in this season.

Posted by: AustinHusker on November 7, 2009 9:59PM CST
Silicon-I saw the first quarter, I did not see a bunch of sacks of Green. Right now, I'll take average on offense.

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 9:59PM CST
Okie's tricky. They're trying to set up one down the post.

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 9:59PM CST
cmon D!!! get a stop...

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 10:00PM CST
Turnover right now.

And where did all these negative people come from???

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 10:01PM CST
This review is good for the D. Gives em a break for a min or two. Lets em catch their breath.

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 7, 2009 10:01PM CST
Huskersincebirth,
Have you not been on here when the Huskers lose a game? You want to see negativity?

Posted by: flimflamfan on November 7, 2009 10:02PM CST
Huskersincebirth2

I'm trying to not crap a load, on 'em.

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 10:02PM CST

Posted by: Huskersincebirth2 on November 7, 2009 10:04PM CST
Now, lets oil up that Big Red machine and get it rollin one last time this game. Just need a FG right now that's all... just an Alex 'The Money' Henry FG.

Posted by: SoDakHusker on November 7, 2009 10:05PM CST
almost 9 min remain...we need two first downs to run some time off and grab field position if we don't score

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 7, 2009 10:05PM CST
Huskersincebirth,
This game is incredible. I did not think we would have a chance. Booo on me. If we had a average offense this game would be a blow out.
On a postive note no matter what happens this game will bow well for recuiting!

Posted by: bruNo on November 7, 2009 10:05PM CST
I'm on the edge of my seat actually, but I want this game...

Posted by: joe9wicket on November 7, 2009 10:05PM CST
