BAM is the sound of Tiger Woods hitting a tree in his SUV.

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 2:03PM CST
Too soon?

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 27, 2009 2:03PM CST
Alabama down by 14 in the first....

Hope to see the Huskers come out that strong on Offense

This game worries me more than Texas. I know Bo wouldn't look past CU, but it would be an easy thing for some of the kids to do.

CU played OSU tough, and if we have any hangover from the KSU game, they have the potential to exploit it.

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 27, 2009 2:07PM CST
Wish we had Gus Malzahn.

There's an offensive coach that doesn't care if he does not have experienced players... he just scores with his scheme. He plays 5 different QB's. It makes no difference to him.

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 2:09PM CST
Tiger was probably trying to avoid hitting a small animal.

Go kick some butt Huskers.

Do you think CU's players would've been more hyped for this game if Hawkins's job status was still up in the air? I tend to think so.

It'll be interesting to see how the CU fans respond to retaining Hawkins.

Posted by: no nothing on November 27, 2009 2:14PM CST
May be back at half.

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 27, 2009 2:15PM CST
In fact... didn't Gus Malzahn make Bo's LSU championship defense look silly?

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 27, 2009 2:15PM CST
PT

That works.....did you borrow any of Nish's inflatables to decorate with?

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 2:15PM CST
I hope Watson plans on sticking with power formation and is patient. CU is fast and is a differnet team than at the beginning of the season. Watson needs to try and not screw this up.

Posted by: NWA Husker on November 27, 2009 2:17PM CST
Left Brewster at 6:20 AM and hauled arse for 6 1/2 hours because I thought kick off was at 12:30. But the cat was happy to see us.

BF says Go Big Defense! GBR! Zhou Da Hong!

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 2:46PM CST
Henery is incredible. I bet he plays in the league some day. That will make 3 Kickers from NU in the NFL, Kris and Josh Brown and Alex. That is if Kris doesn't get fired for missing game winning field goals 2 weeks in a row.

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 2:46PM CST
watson better get that power formation going and pass out of it. CUs LBers need to be made to respect the run. Utilize the TE and pass over the Lbers. Pass out of the power.

Posted by: Viking Husker on November 27, 2009 2:46PM CST
We are due for a pick 6....

Posted by: PT Husker on November 27, 2009 2:47PM CST

Man Auburn is giving the tide a game

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 2:50PM CST
NU doesnt want to get into a track meet with CU. They will get run off the field. Watson better slow down the game and establish control of the line of scrimmage.

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 2:51PM CST
What happens if Bama loses and then beats Florida?

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 2:51PM CST
BF says thebone63 says is true. PT is right too D and special teams good. GBR! Zhou Da Hong!

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 2:52PM CST
How have you come to that conclusion after 1 offensive series. Who is running track out there? FALSE START. Keep it up Buffs.

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 2:52PM CST
there ya go Puffalos. Shoot yourselves in the foot

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 2:53PM CST

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 2:53PM CST
Niles is not a good return man. He is always dancing himself into a tackle.

Posted by: PhilipDa1 on November 27, 2009 2:54PM CST
Lets score this time!!!! Take the mighty MO early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 2:54PM CST
Not Niles fault.

No blocking the bullets
hard to make a return when your guys aren't there to step up

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 2:54PM CST
niesenguy,
The BCS will be fubar!

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 2:55PM CST
GO HUSKERS! We want a touchdown. GBR! Zhou Da Hong!

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 2:56PM CST
Blackshirty...I know its not always his fault but that wasn't a comment based off of that one return...just over the course of the season I have been very unimpressed by his decisions back there.

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 2:56PM CST
hmmmmmmmmmm

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 2:57PM CST
That is 2 series with not much going on...one more and Green comes in, that is how Watson does it right.

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 2:57PM CST

Whack those Buffalos

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 2:59PM CST

3 step and fire

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 3:00PM CST
Go Big Defense again. GBR! Zhou Da Hong!

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 3:01PM CST
I say that because I have watched CU football. Its not based on one series. I watch football other than NU. Watson needs to recognize how CU reacts to NU in the power and go after the weakness. CU will bring it to NU in the power, that frees up the TE and other receivers in the middle.

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 3:01PM CST
I love Niles as a punt returner!!

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 27, 2009 3:01PM CST

ATTA BOY PAUL!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: truehusker on November 27, 2009 3:02PM CST
I'll say this is the worst offensive line nebraska has fielded in many decades. If things don't change things will change.

Posted by: PT Husker on November 27, 2009 3:02PM CST
Go sucky return guy. Paul for 6.

Posted by: PhilipDa1 on November 27, 2009 3:02PM CST
Just when you complain about Paul's return ability he turns one for 6.
GO BIG RED!!!!

Legate for Heisman....we're a better team with him in there

Posted by: PT Husker on November 27, 2009 3:14PM CST
Good 1st quarter. CU has no offense at all thanks to our D. 7 -0 and driving.

But I know we should be up by 24.

Geez.

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 3:14PM CST
Not trying to take Lee out of the game cause he hasn't done anything bad yet...but I do want to see cody a few drives. Want to see what he can do with this new style offense. He hasn't got a chance since OU when he got pulled for no reason really.

Posted by: nino_43 on November 27, 2009 3:14PM CST
Good run Big Rex! Keep running those and Rex is gonna take 1 of them to the house!

Posted by: Viking Husker on November 27, 2009 3:18PM CST

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 3:19PM CST
that would be me, nielsenguy, thanks.

Posted by: truehusker on November 27, 2009 3:19PM CST
This is the best we can hope for...we get up and buffs quit. We need alot of offensive work to become average. A game of easy confidense would help before next week. Hope things go this well all day??

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 3:20PM CST
Viking,
I dont hat Lee. Think he is the best choice to manage the team. Lee has improved. He has a ways to go, but he dosent lose the game anymore

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 3:20PM CST
Lets put our foot on their throats now, and make a friggin statement.

That statement is North Champs!

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 3:21PM CST
CU cheerleaders not exactly 10 oh BF says you think no pretty nielsenguy? No see cheerleaders so don't know. GBR! Zhou Da Hong!

Posted by: HuskerzRock on November 27, 2009 3:22PM CST
wow, that kick was uh....ya...

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 3:22PM CST
make the Buffs one dimensional and turn loose the hounds

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 3:22PM CST
Henery!!!

That kick off cleared the goal pasts. The should atleast be a couple points

Posted by: GreenBrterRed on November 27, 2009 3:23PM CST
that's twice the announcers have called Adi, Henery

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 27, 2009 3:23PM CST
yea it was good but that was Knaulic (sp)

Posted by: HuskerzRock on November 27, 2009 3:24PM CST
Ya, I don't think Henery can kickoff that long.

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 3:25PM CST
Wats, Run just enough to get the secondary to cheat up. Then let Lee uncork 'em verticle

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 3:25PM CST
They showed the Cheerleaders right before that last TD.

Posted by: Viking Husker on November 27, 2009 3:26PM CST
He was out

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 3:27PM CST
Is Adi just atrocious with accuracy or what?

Posted by: PhilipDa1 on November 27, 2009 3:27PM CST
I would think that they would do there research and know who is doing what on the field. Learn who the kickers are and what they are doing.

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 3:27PM CST
Wats. run more than enough. This is NU football. Now give them a few option plays and CU will attack hard, TE again. They wont learn, too much 420 in Boulder.

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 3:28PM CST
Well Adi is awesome too
still should be 2 points.

Carl, rush 4 down, and man up on coverage. They have two talented receivers. Lock 'em down. Maybe, MAYBE send an additional linebacker, but they wont run to far on us

Those little short passes to the TE on the rollout piss me off. It's like Zac doesn't even try to look for anyone else to get a bigger gain. Just throw it to the TE and hope to get a yard or 2.

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 3:33PM CST
running game paying divies early today. time for a pass. Watson isnt getting it. Show them the power again and pass out of it. single back formation allows the LBers to play pass after a quick peek into the backfield. DUH

Adjust adjust adjust

This isn't intermurals

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 3:36PM CST
I think Wats is doin decent. If he opens it up too much that is when a mistake could occur that gets CU back in this game. As long as we are in control ther eis no reason to open it up too much. Problem is that it is inviteable that CU will score at some point and we might need more than 14 to win.

Posted by: GreenBrterRed on November 27, 2009 3:37PM CST

PT,
GO BIG RED!!!

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 3:40PM CST
no one wants him to open it up. you give CU the same look, especially when its working and then run different plays out of the same formation. When you mainly pass out of a single set, the LBers dont have to worry as much about coming up and stuffing the holes. They can read and sit in pass coverage. Show CU power all day and pass off it.

Posted by: nielsenguy on November 27, 2009 3:40PM CST

Posted by: Albino on November 27, 2009 4:10PM CST
PT, I have to admire how good they are at keeping the secret weapon hidden. I worried that Zac gave it away on that long pass but, with the high throw to Paul on the crossing pattern and a few other plays, I think (hope) the cat is back in the bag.

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:01PM CST
During the first five games of conference play, Nebraska had just 11 plays of 20 yards or more. But in just 19 plays from “22” personnel against Kansas, Nebraska produced six big gains:

• Zac Lee's 37-yard play-action pass to Niles Paul, where Lee let it fly from his end zone.
• Lee's 32-yard scramble on a second-quarter bootleg.
• Lee's option pass to Paul on the next snap for 37 more yards.
• A 45-yard go route from Lee to Paul off play-action.
• Helu's 20-yard touchdown dash to give Nebraska a 22-17 lead.
• Helu's 30-yard run on third-and-10 on the final drive.

If we ever were going to see something with both QB, now would be the time. But I’m afraid with Wats, what you see is what you get, and that’s not much. Thank God we have gone to more of a Power game and probably can win that game on our running game.

Bo is the head coach, its up to him to fire Watson. He should do it.

Posted by: rankrider21 on November 27, 2009 5:06PM CST
As all of you fans that are keeping a cool head about think about this.

Maybe Watson doesn't want to be a DONU anymore and he is tried of the intensity of Bo. So he keeps going away from something that starts working just to piss Bo off. Think about it before replying because everytime we get something going our way he goes off on a wild tangent and then it is three and out.

Just a thought from somebody sitting here watching this game and wondering why after 11 games we still have no offensive continuty.

Also just my opinion Fisher bites he is one of our better players??? come on coaches.

Posted by: NWA Husker on November 27, 2009 5:06PM CST
Block it!!!

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 5:06PM CST
PT BF says last quarter belongs to the Huskers. We will get back that 2 touchdown lead and more he says. BF has been wrong at times but I will think positive. GO BIG POSITIVE RED! GBR! Zhou Da Hong!

Posted by: Albino on November 27, 2009 5:06PM CST
You may be right PT. Bo has a great record in the fourth quarter, so a little Bo magic would be welcome as well.

GBR

Posted by: gtsum2 on November 27, 2009 5:07PM CST
wats is as average a play caller as our offensive line....therein lies this sickening offense...thank the good lord for our defense and the great blocking on the NP punt return for a td

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:07PM CST
thank goodness, Hawkins is as bad a coach as Watson. They have a very good tailback but wont put in a FB either.

Posted by: NWA Husker on November 27, 2009 5:08PM CST
Man, that kicker sucks.. I love him hahaha.

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 5:08PM CST
If it ain't broke

Fix it Watson

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 5:08PM CST
Our D is making CU's O look pretty damn good when they're ranked in the 100s in the nation.

Posted by: NebraskaRon on November 27, 2009 5:09PM CST
I have us for 35 yards in the second half. WOW!

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:09PM CST
rankrider, I said that on another forum, I think Watson wants to be bought out.

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 5:09PM CST
Total yards:

NU - 134
CU - 279

Posted by: Albino on November 27, 2009 5:10PM CST
Cody+ FB and 2 TEs + some option calls! Including play action passes. Let the defense rest a little.

I'm just an old-fashioned kinda guy.

CU Blows! How can we be in a dog-fight against these scrubs? O, Please do something!!! Cant believe they didnt review that fumble.

Posted by: Snow Bunny on November 27, 2009 5:10PM CST
Hey everyone. Was downstairs watching the game with my bf but getting too nervous to sit still. I really, really wished our offense could do something!

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:10PM CST
thats it Watson, 3 and out. I think the D needs more reps

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 5:11PM CST
Why does are offense always take few quarters off? We have yet to play four good quarters of football, except for the Sun Belt games.

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 5:11PM CST
Beatty reminds me of that South Park episode about "ginger" kids. Don't trust 'em.

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 5:11PM CST
108th in total offense CU is?

and we're going against the top rated passing offense next week?

HA!~

Posted by: rankrider21 on November 27, 2009 5:11PM CST
I think that your right bone.

Posted by: Albino on November 27, 2009 5:12PM CST
Burkhead is a pleasure to watch, isn't he?

GBR

Posted by: gtsum2 on November 27, 2009 5:13PM CST
running shotgun spread with a bum qb and then rolling him out for the the TE to the flat (for the 5th time today)....unreal the play calling. For god's sake...if lee is good enough to start at nebraska, then he should damn well be good enough to throw the ball down the field...especially against the Buffs....we h ave dodged several bullets this game and are lucky to be ahead

I am SOOOOO glad burkhead is back...he was missed dearly those 5 weeks

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 5:13PM CST
GO Superman! GO HUSKERS! We want a touchdown and BF needs it bad. GBR! Zhou Da Hong!

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 5:15PM CST
reminds me of Mizzou game when we were forced to run the ball toward the end and we just ran right down the field on them.

C'mon Watson

A FULLBACK

Posted by: sneezy87 on November 27, 2009 5:15PM CST
Burkhead is the future of our run offense. Tough, good vision, quick decisions, and the ability to hold on to the ball. Helu needs to take some lessons from Rex.

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:16PM CST
come on Wats, the D is making a first move to the line with 9 guys, over the top with a pass. Someone hold Watsons hand.

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 5:16PM CST

Has anyone else noticed who our backs are talking to as they come off the field this seriece. Every time they show the sideline it seems like Bo it the one talking.

Posted by: Albino on November 27, 2009 5:17PM CST
I like this drive, especially since, so far, they're only revealing half of the secret.

While in commericial here is another thought. We haven't been able to devolope any other offensive lineman during the course of the season. Why hasn't anybody younger said come coach put me in I'll knock em down. Something else that makes you go hmmmm.

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 5:18PM CST

Thank god they called a timeout. That looked like it was about to get ugly

impressive drive..good running and good o line blocking...I wonder why it takes our o line 3 quarters to get going though??

Posted by: Viking Husker on November 27, 2009 5:22PM CST
THAT was a Nebraska drive. CU remembers the Cornhuskers.

Posted by: TheNUorder on November 27, 2009 5:22PM CST
Rex is a Winner, pure and simple!

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:22PM CST
heck, rank, I think it has to be frustrating to be an O lineman when Watson doesnt even know what kind of offense he is running. You want a power blocker, pass blocker, finesse blocker. These a college kids with limited time practicing. Callahan tried the same crap, having college kids try and learn a 300 page play book. Keep it simple stupid.

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 5:22PM CST

Posted by: rankrider21 on November 27, 2009 5:26PM CST
I also subscribe to the K.I.S.S. strategy. Bone. And yes that could be one of the problems. Boy are the announcers going after Assante.

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 5:27PM CST
wow. here come the bailout flags. is Obama heading up this referee crew?

Posted by: gtsum2 on November 27, 2009 5:27PM CST
announcers all over asante...I like his aggression..he has saved so many td's the past couple of years because of his play....oh man, another penalty...30 yards just like that..both are questionable imo

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:27PM CST
I agree Exile, I am all for protecting players but Astant was in full stride and didnt lower his pads or helmet

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 5:28PM CST
PT yes he doesn't mind beast at all. He calls FU knucklehead 2 like his wife does. And he calls FU sometimes Big Beast and BF Little Beast from you PT. PT gave us beast. And GBRTX gave us knucklehead. Thanks! GBR! Zhou Da Hong! GO BIG POSITIVE RED!

Seems like the ref are for the gumps today how many times Suh has handds to his face and the holding calls just doesn't right. Maybe ref have money on the over and under?

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 5:30PM CST
This doesn't look like our D

Posted by: HuskerBruin on November 27, 2009 5:30PM CST
Bad game for our D. No other way of looking at it. Completely unacceptable.

Posted by: Albino on November 27, 2009 5:32PM CST
Au contraire, D has held up pretty well for how long they've been on the field in Colorado air.

GBR

Posted by: PhilipDa1 on November 27, 2009 5:32PM CST
the talk about Assante by the anouncers I am confused for a second here is this football or patty cake. I thought you were supposed to hit.

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 5:32PM CST
Might be the altitude. Sorry I know that sounded lame.
The defense had some bad periods against KU St. They have kind of let down since the Soonners game.

Posted by: Low Country Husker on November 27, 2009 5:32PM CST
yep our O sucks and now our D sucks might as well just go back to Lincoln, forfeit the final 2 games and wait for next year....this 8-3 team really sucks!

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 5:32PM CST
DEFENSE! BF says we need a pick. GBR! Zhou Da Hong! GO BIG POSITIVE RED!

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:32PM CST
I dont like CU but they have some talent. Lots of speed. You have to bend but not break against these spread O's. Things get tight inside the 20. Remeber NU not scoring TDs inside the 20'?

Posted by: PT Husker on November 27, 2009 5:33PM CST
The beast says you are embrassed that I call you Beauty. and even thought your are, I won't. A beautiful person is you.

damn, ref, arm extended with shirt. thats holding

Posted by: Viking Husker on November 27, 2009 5:34PM CST
Since when can you get beat by a D lineman and then push them to the turf from behind? It's been happening all game!

Posted by: BlackshirtBeado on November 27, 2009 5:35PM CST
No doubt
Ugly

14 no MORE

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:35PM CST

Go back to being Mr. Postive.
We all have our own roles and have to stick within those areas.

Posted by: Viking Husker on November 27, 2009 5:40PM CST
Nish,
I'm not one to complain about the refs, cause they do a better job than I could, but it keeps happening. And not just backside, but at the point of attack.

they might be the same fans that were calling for Dr. Tom to be fired everytime we lost to the Sooners? Prior to the NCs?

Offense put 28 points up, not bad.
They had a drive just like you wanted.
This team is still very young.
Wats adjusted and is not lining up our of the gun.

Posted by: Viking Husker on November 27, 2009 5:46PM CST
This is about what I expected for the game:

CU is no slouch, and in a rivalry game they play us tough.

We are coming off a short week after a big game and into a game we don't "need." Knew it'd be close, but a good win.

Nice job boys, bring on the Horns

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 5:47PM CST
offense didnt put up 28 points and Watson killed drives with his play calling.

hey Nish, that offense kept the D on the field a long time against CU.

Posted by: gtsum2 on November 27, 2009 5:50PM CST
ouch...that really hurt husker backers...glad I laid off this one:)

On to Texas...huskers will need, by far, their best offensive game of the year to hang with texas. This will be the best defense, and the best offense the huskers have faced. I remember 1996 though...anything can happen!

Posted by: Wrestler on November 27, 2009 5:50PM CST
To all of you on the blog today. Thanks for letting us be a part from HK. I and BF enjoyed very much! And BF made his promise so no knucklehead or dishes. He does them anyway no want me to tell. I love Husker football with all of you. PT says today GO BIG POSITIVE RED! GBR! Zhou Da Hong! We now go to morning tea with mama and baba bye bye! No! touchdown pass for Colorado no good so knucklehead is now knucklehead for a month and dishes for sure! We will still win game that's good. Sorry for last touchdown.

Nish Get over it. He plays to the whislte and was pissed about that score. I love Bo and he should be mad.

BO BIG RED!!!

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 5:53PM CST
Bone,
Not a big Wats fan but just last year this offense was one of the top offenses in college puting up alot of points. If Bo wants to get rid of him then so be it. Until then Wats is a Husker.

Posted by: PhilipDa1 on November 27, 2009 5:54PM CST
NishBigRed that was a pasionate coach that wants top quality play for the entire game no matter what the score is!!!!

Posted by: Robka on November 27, 2009 5:54PM CST
9 wins is the norm again in a year every one thought it would be tough to get there. R team is hard nosed just like their head coach. Little wussie boys should go root 4 another team.

BO BIG RED!!!

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 5:56PM CST
Yeah,
Got no problem with the pasion, but the whole nation read his lips.
Nothing wrong with a butt chewing just leave those above out of it

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 5:59PM CST
Tom Osborne use to scream obesities at his coaches and kids all the time. I forgot. It’s ok as long as we put the passionate label on it!!

Posted by: thebone63 on November 27, 2009 6:00PM CST
Nish, the offense scored 14 points. Last year the offense had alot of yards, that doesnt equal wins and points.

Posted by: Robka on November 27, 2009 6:00PM CST
It is really tough to put a filter on passion, Even Conservative Tom lost his cool in the early years. (and yes dagnammit means the same thing as .........well u get the drift)

BO BIG RED!!!

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 27, 2009 6:03PM CST
Oh God,
Im not going to argue with everyone
The team has come along ways from the Iowa St. game.
By the way Bo is not happy with the effort today.

Posted by: Robka on November 27, 2009 6:04PM CST
PASSION = BEING UPSET BECAUSE U CARE.
Call it anything u want, but that is what I want from my coach. Call a spade a spade Bo.

BO BIG RED!!!
