A few dings here and there. Everyone else is fine. We have a few things to get fixed. Liked the effort. Yada, yada, yada.

If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Posted by: Doc_Husker on November 3, 2009 8:35AM CST
If I were a coach, I'd be exactly like Bo. With all of the stupid press conferences, conference calls, interviews with sideline reporters, etc... it would be tough to come up with anything creative.

Just keep giving the canned answers and be done with it. Preach on brother Bo.

Birds of a feather flock together.

Posted by: WyHuskerFan on November 3, 2009 9:10AM CST
Doc, I'll say whatever I damned well please until the censorship nazis take away that freedom too.

That was my point in my post. He doesn't tell us anything new, and he doesn't tell us how he really feels. With all the PC BS why have them. We don't learn anything and they're a waste of everyone's time, especially his. He's got a ailing football team he would rather spend his time with than reporters who ask the same questions week after week. I'm sure many of them think it's a waste of time too.

That being said, I hope they can pull it together and come out strong on Saturday. I don't think the task is as daunting as many believe. Time for the breaks to go our way. GBR!

Glad to see that a few of us have not completely lost faith. If you know what the outcome is going to be why bother to play the game.

GO Big Red.

Posted by: PT Husker on November 3, 2009 9:22AM CST
Wyo, were did you play? Or am I misunderstanding what you have said?

Posted by: WyHuskerFan on November 3, 2009 9:23AM CST
Amen, PT. We still can say amen can't we?

Posted by: WyHuskerFan on November 3, 2009 9:27AM CST
PT, I didn't play football. Played D1 lacrosse at University of Md, College Park. Athletic dept rules were the same for every team.

Posted by: Ray in Bellevue on November 3, 2009 9:40AM CST
I think that Bo could be more informative during news conferences, especially regarding injuries. He acts like he doesn't know from squat, but the trainer must be giving Bo the lowdown every day. Why all of the secrecy? For example, it would be nice to know when to expect Burkhead back to practice. That information certainly wouldn't compromise coming games. Oh well, the only certainty is that nothing much changes. The amount of useful information provided during Bo's press conferences is close to zero. So what is the point of having them, as someone else said?

Posted by: Father of future Husker on November 3, 2009 9:41AM CST
Throw46)) I'm open...hit me!

Posted by: Guido on November 3, 2009 9:46AM CST
Oklahoma may be down, but they are not out. It will still be a battle of the defenses. Whichever team's offense is able to put some points on the board early will make it easier on their defense - which is the strength of both teams (obviously).

The first team to 20 points should win.

PT - Any chance you can help out a LITR brotha with tix for Saturday? Call me if you can. You've got my cell number.

Posted by: PT Husker on November 3, 2009 9:47AM CST
I heard Bo does not like jason Peter. He He He.

Posted by: TomOs on November 3, 2009 9:48AM CST
How much do they bump the ticket for OU?

Posted by: Guido on November 3, 2009 9:49AM CST
I wonder if Jason Peter hung out with Andre Agassi back in the daze????

Posted by: WyHuskerFan on November 3, 2009 9:51AM CST
He might have but neither of them can remember.

Posted by: Big Red in Big D 007 on November 3, 2009 9:57AM CST
A tough prime time game on Sat. against a pretty good OU team. I have read that NU better hope for some help from OU if we have a chance. I always thought you never hoped for help but created your oppurtunities. This starts with 11 players on defense and offense playing with everything they have for 60 minutes. If we do that we will have nothing to be ashamed of whatever the outcome. Oh, by the way if we do that we will win!

God bless the big red, I have the faith.

Posted by: 4BigRed on November 3, 2009 10:00AM CST
TomOs, the tickets for every game are the same price.

Posted by: TomOs on November 3, 2009 10:03AM CST
OK.. I thought they bumped it up for OU.. for a single game ticket..

Posted by: 4BigRed on November 3, 2009 10:04AM CST
The scalpers will be bumping them for sure!

Posted by: RetiredArmyGuy on November 3, 2009 10:14AM CST
I wonder if they are moving around well?

Posted by: TomOs on November 3, 2009 10:15AM CST
I was just wondering.. how much would it take for Suh to exceed the .08 alcohol limit.. maybe someone will ask Bo at the media conference.

Posted by: Dave on November 3, 2009 10:22AM CST
Ticket office had a few OU tickets pop up yesterday on huskers.com for $65 each, and my season tix were $54 each.

The nitpicking about Bo's press conferences is amusing. I haven't seen many D1 coach's press conferences that give out much more info. I don't really expect him to dole out his gameplan like some you apparently expect. Then next week you'd be asking why it looked like they knew what we were going to do?

Duh!

Posted by: redone on November 3, 2009 10:27AM CST
I don't think Bo knows what is wrong with the team, he seems adrift with the sea. When someone ask a question, he looks lost and trying to come up with an answer that is short and to evade the question. At least Callahan would give a full answer when his team was in this kind of mess.

Posted by: TomOs on November 3, 2009 10:29AM CST
Hey dont take me wrong.. I think Suh is great.. but I imagine he has a capacity thats unbelievable.. I wouldnt want to get into chuging contest with him..

Posted by: TheOneAndOnly on November 3, 2009 10:30AM CST
He probably seems confused because JJ Davis was the one asking him the question.

Posted by: Denver Bob on November 3, 2009 10:37AM CST
Bo and the coaches know exactly what's wrong with the offense and so does Oklahoma. There is no benefit to dwelling on it unless an element of surprise can be created for this next game.

Bo is not going to tell the reporters that this game is a no-hoper unless someone can locate a top notch faith healer for our battered RBs.

GBR!

Watson has had 1... count it... 1... offense finish in the top 20 in his life.

He also got bashed... 30-3... by Cozgroves fantastic Nebraska Blackshirt defense a couple of years ago.

CU was favored by 17 in that game.

Yeah and I'm sure there was an excuse.

"We just couldn't get the run game going they where stacking the box and my sideways passing game just wasn't consistent. We had them outschemed but we just can't execute with these young players. Give me three years it will work out."

BC))) Ask Suh why he was trying to kill cats... Mike Vick style... whilst he was driving drunk.

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 3, 2009 11:09AM CST
I want to know who Suh was texting when it happened......maybe Landry Jones?

Posted by: huskers4_eva on November 3, 2009 11:14AM CST
no no i think watson is the right guy, u know i think he just needs some time, and get the right guys.... wait, no. actually i hate watson offensive scheme. Way too inconistent and a week to week basis. But for all i know, Watson will probably pull something off here with the last 5 games and have an offense so calibrating that everybody will say that we can't lose watson, he's our great OC. Just watch, the offense will probably have another great run in production. Either that or they will just absolutely suck.

Posted by: Crazy Jack on November 3, 2009 11:14AM CST
Our offense will be lucky to get one first down the whole game. The vaunted D will get tired from being on the field all night and the score might be worse than last year. Our younger players will get injured going up against a much bigger faster more talented physical defense. Untill the whole offense players and coaches are overhauled we will remain at the bottom of the B12.

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 3, 2009 11:34AM CST
Step....hilarious last night. You Think You Know gave one of his glowing reviews of BRG and said "some people think I'm him but that's not true..." , yada yada...."what's going on on the blog tonight?"

Blackandblue responds "Just talking about OU BRG, what are you up to".....and YTYK responds "not much blackandblue".

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 3, 2009 11:34AM CST
Step,
Your telling me. I got put in the naughty box by Vicotoria for calling you guys idiots. I was only doing it in the voice of BRG. It's amazing I get nailed for hours by a nucklehead for not agreeing that Jason Peters is god and I get a time out. Was told to stop inciting fights, are you kidding me? You can't call somone a moron, mocking and idiot?

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 3, 2009 11:36AM CST
Nish....you're a moron for picking on such a fine individual. I'm amazed I haven't had mom talk to me.

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 3, 2009 11:37AM CST
Slowly but surely... I created a schism through the internet that turned the Nebraska fan base against Watson. Job well done by me.

Next... I'm turning my sights towards Suh. Do you think I can do it? I do. I don't think there is any question I am more popular than Suh within the Big Red fan base.

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 3, 2009 11:39AM CST
I was shocked it said Nish stop calling posters idiots and inciting fights? Are you kidding me. Low frigin started. He is a poop face, butt nugget. Me start fights? I'm one of the good guys. Try and have some fun with out being hurtful.

Bo doesn't know what the problem is, just like he said that Green wasn't ready for his position and then, there he was. That just shows Bo doesn't know. Its very simple to see, unless your blind. You fans that think the dark days were here when Peterson and Callahan was here well, brace youself because you haven't see dark days yet.

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 3, 2009 11:43AM CST
What? Vicky no likey the "idiot" statement? How'd she "talk" at you? I would imagine shes after me also. I haven't seen anything yet tho.

Makes me wonder what her love note to RL was. Glad to see that he was on last night and having as big a laugh as everyone else. There was only one person trying to take it seriously...who was that? As Mars Blackman would say, "Do you know? Do you know? Do you know?"

Posted by: Outside The Box on November 3, 2009 11:47AM CST
How, exactly, does one see a dark day?

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 3, 2009 11:50AM CST

Posted by: throw46 on November 3, 2009 11:57AM CST

Posted by: The StepnRaZor on November 3, 2009 11:59AM CST
Oh no way! You got me wrong. I love Suh. It's just that I have a hobby of turning the Nebraska fan base one way or the other... and I like challenges. Turning the Nebraska fan base against Suh is a good solid challenge.

Silicon))) AWESOME! That dude was acting like somebody else and trying to say that his own self "proved a point". Like he was getting back up. LOL! Thats just classic!

Then he tried to say that his own self was being talked about all the time for being a self proclaimed blog "King".

Then he finished up with... "Well I just had to make an account so I could say this".

LAUGH OUT LOUD! You can't make that up.

Posted by: throw46 on November 3, 2009 11:59AM CST
I read into Bo's speak, via Sipple, that Green will start. You guys get that?

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 3, 2009 11:59AM CST

I'm thinking Redone is on a raft, floating in the Pacific...sort of like Hanks on Castaway, talking to Wilson. "Wilson.....Pelini doesn't know what's wrong with the team! .......run a quick out to that wave over there and I'll hit you with a pass."

Posted by: Outside The Box on November 3, 2009 12:01PM CST
throw46 - I think in order to see a dark day, you'll need to put down the original copy of the military inteligence book, stop eating your jumbo shrimp, and consider my unbiased opinion.

Of course, the same differnce could turn out to be the constant variable, unless you take a calculated risk and look for the answer your closest Mobil station.

Posted by: NishBigRed on November 3, 2009 12:03PM CST
Step,
Wasn't that a little bit high schoolish? Heck i don't know how many blog names BRG, there was his mother too. Man thats sick if a guys pretends to be his mother. I wonder what Sigmund would have to say about that.

Posted by: Outside The Box on November 3, 2009 12:06PM CST
Silicon - popular belief is that redone is some kid sitting in his mom's basement on Pacific St. (in Omaha) waiting for Creighton basketball to start (or for Dana Altman to leave for Arkansas, chicken out, and come home).

Posted by: drivebyposter on November 3, 2009 12:06PM CST
nish,

I have a tendency to agree with you, when you speak truthfully

Posted by: redone on November 3, 2009 12:06PM CST
Man, Things really are bad in huskerland, Bo has been giving news conferences during the day trying to explain the troubles that his team is having and you can tell he doesn't really know what is wrong. That says there are real bad problems here and the question is where do we go from here. Bo said earlier that Green wasn't ready and the next week there he is. What is up with all this double talk, that just shows no confidence in the team what so ever and "Bo don't know".

Stoops may think he has his team ready for this game, cause they are thinking about last year & how our offence has been playing year. Bo & he staff will have a game plan that our team will be able to execute. Then were going to kick their a$$....... GBR

Posted by: Iowa Rising on November 3, 2009 12:08PM CST
The versatility of the pistol formation can be utilized in a variety of ways. Because the quarterback is closer to the line of scrimmage than in a traditional shotgun formation, he can see more easily over the line and make down field reads. He will also get the ball snapped to him faster, which can alter timing patterns greatly for a preparing defense. The pistol offense can effectively use draw plays, counters, and options using three wide receiver formations or multiple tight ends combined with a fullback for pass protection. In a pistol formation, hand-offs occur 2-3 yards closer than in the shotgun, which can make for a more effective running game, while keeping pass efficiency. This formation works well with dual threat quarterbacks who can both throw and run.

Posted by: Outside The Box on November 3, 2009 12:08PM CST

Step...not sure if you saw it, but I told him if he created more screen names he would have more admirers.

Nish...haven't seen enough of JP to know if he is. I remember seeing him on "Real Sports" on HBO many years ago when he first went public (but apparently was still hiding problems) and thinking that he sounded convincing and I hoped he was clean but worried that it was like Robert Downey saying he was clean now. I dated someone who was an addiction counselor and her husband had been an alcoholic and she had the opinion that addicts generally just lie. (She felt that way about W).

CP apparently went through some significant rehab and married a psychologist. He opened a sports bar which eventually closed. He sounded like a guy who was sorry for past deeds but you never know.

Busie...I'm working on an episode of Law and Order based on it....haven't decided who will get killed and how the conspiracy will work. BRG returned as "You Think You Know", a non-confrontational screen name that none of us noticed. Someone else posted as "Mother of You Think You Know" with some good comic relief. take a look at yesterday's blog on Bo saying we need a running game. Also, Low and Nish did their best re-creation of the BRG/Luben match to the entertainment of all.

BRG as a screen name is done apparently.

Posted by: HuskerInExile on November 3, 2009 12:33PM CST
Gotta love the slow jam music interrupting Cody's presser. I wish Cody would've started busting out some Barry White lyrics.

Posted by: Silicon Valley Husker on November 3, 2009 12:34PM CST
The best part was that "You Think You Know" did nothing but comment on the posts between BRG and Luben and said that Luben must be a tool.....and that BRG had proven his point about people just being on to talk trash. I heard that he broke his arm patting himself on the back.

Posted by: Busiekcreek on November 3, 2009 12:34PM CST
I just hated to see rluben get into that as he started out in a peaceful manner and it went from there.
